SWEET CHEEKS

YOU ARE WHO YOU EAT!! Your food habits can alter your mood. If you are feeling sluggish, tired, depressed, just by changing what you eat you will start to feel better! I have been injured lately, yes it makes me a little depressed, tired, and it has altered my moods. I'm always happy, excited, but not the past few days. So I decided that I needed to eat even healthier in order to have my happy self come back.. When you eat healthy your mind is clear, your happier, and everything starts to make sense!! Sometimes you just have to take a step back and make a few changes.

Why I bring up SWEET CHEEKS? They are the Blog to follow when it comes to Healthy Eating. They post some of the most flavorful recipes, and great eating tips. You will never be dissappointed with the Cheeks. They always bring the best recipes that are creative, yummy, and healthy for you.

What's your next Sport in 2011??

Wait we still have time! What's your next extreme sport to end 2010 with??

2011 is going to be an incredible year in so many ways. 2011 I will be going HANG GLIDING. I grew up in Netarts/Oceanside, Oregon. As a young child I watched people hang glide off the mountains in Oceanside and land onto the beach. I knew that someday that was going to be me. First I have to take lessons here in Southern California but I will be landing on the beach in Oceanside, my hometown someday soon!!

I would love to hear what your next EXTREME SPORT is going to be!! Lets bring in 2011 with an extreme adventure that will knock your socks right off, well actually they just might.. hahah..

Cardio Kickboxing! Anyone can do it!

On Thursday night, I decided to try my local cardio kickboxing class. I walked in and saw people of all ages, shapes and sizes and thought, hey, if they can do it, so can I. To my right were two ladies in their mid 60's, one who made me laugh the entire time because of how off beat she was moving, but none the less, workout hard the entire time. I had never taken this kind of class before so I had no idea what to expect. It was really easy to follow along and you can definitely modify any of the moves at any time if you get tired (and I did at least half the class). I made 10 minutes into the class and think, "It's only been 10 minutes? You know that moment where you wish maybe you hadn't been so ambitious and then realize you have no way out of the room?. Then the burn turned to a kick ass feeling as we moved into all of the kickboxing moves. I had an awesome time. I am super sore and apparently I have muscles in my back I never knew I had because they are REALLY sore, but the good kind of sore. Like I can't wait to go back next week and do it again kind of sore so I can get in really great shape -  and quick. I hope this inspires you to take one of these classes. At least try it once so you can watch all of the funny people and get a great workout at the same time. Hang at the back if you need to, no one judges.

ZUMBA! ZUMBA! ZUMBA!

Sara and I just tried this AWESOME workout. SO....What is Zumba?!



Zumba is a dance fitness program created by dancer and choreographer Beto  Perez in Columbia during the 1990s. The program combines Latin and international music with dance in an effort to make exercize fun. Classes use music and dance based on salsa, merengue, cumbia, reggaeton, samba and other international music styles and forms.

The Zumba program borrows Latin flavor from the following dance styles: Cumbia, Salsa, Merengue, Mambo, Flamenco, Chachacha, Reggaeton, Samba, Belly Dancing, Bhangra, Hip Hop, and Tango.
Easy to follow along. The more you go, the better you get! Take a class and let us know what you think!

Try a sport you've never done before!


For me, there's a lot of sports I've never tried. I think mostly because it is easy to stick with what you know. Being active and doing new things is definitely an invigorating experience so this year I am going to: Learn to Snowboard, try Stand Up Paddleboarding, and also learn to Kiteboard. I've tried Sky Diving so I will leave that for you adrenaline junkies! Let me know what kinds of action sports you want to try this year, or even, if you had the guts to try something crazy, what would it be?
